Over 5 million Americans live with long-term disability due to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/concussion.  Leading Causes of for Adults (15 to 44 years of age) is motor vehicle-related. For children (15 years or younger), it is due to falls. Sports injury also adds to incidences of TBI/ Concussion.  



Some common Signs/Symptoms that are noted are: 

  • Shows mood, behavior, or personality changes

  • Headache or “pressure” in head

  • Balance problems or dizziness

  • Double or blurry vision

  • Sensitivity to light or noise

  • Feeling sluggish, hazy, foggy, or groggy

  • Reading problems


It is important to get a complete vision evaluation by a Neuro-Optometrist to check for visual components as there are several treatment options. Correcting refractive errors, therapeutic tints, prisms, binasal occlusions, optometric vision rehabilitation.
