Part-Time Optometric Paraprofessional
We are seeking a passionate, part-time Optometric Parapro to join our team!
About the Role
As an Optometric Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in our practice by:

Implementing the vision therapy program prescribed by our doctor to treat various visual conditions in pediatric patients.

Working one-on-one with patients, providing direct therapeutic intervention.

Maintaining accurate records of patient progress.
Please Note: You do not need to be a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) to apply for this position. We value dedication and a strong desire to learn and help children.

Opportunity for Certification: Commit to staying with us for three years and actively pursue professional certification.

Achieve COVT Status: Upon meeting the requirements, you will earn the title of Certified Optometric Vision Therapist (COVT)—a recognized national credential.
Key Responsibilities
The Optometric Paraprofessional's main duties ensure a seamless and effective therapy experience for our patients:

One-on-One Therapy: Greeting and conducting prescribed therapy activities with patients.

Documentation: Accurate charting and documenting patient progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Program Assessment: Programming and adjusting the proper level of therapeutic activities for patients under the doctor's guidance.

Parent Communication: Clearly explaining and following up on home-activity assignments with the patient and parent(s)/guardian(s).

Reporting: Reporting therapeutic goals and progress to the doctors.

Administrative Support: Scheduling therapy appointments/evaluations and responding to patient/parent inquiries about vision therapy via phone or email.

Clinic Maintenance: Cleaning/sanitizing therapy tools and the therapy room, assisting with supply inventory and orders.
